Wood County Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All contributions are tax-deductible.
The Process
Monetary donations are a key part of the funding for the ministry of Habitat for Humanity. There are several ways to donate.
- Write a check payable to Habitat for Humanity and mail it to the address listed below.
- Become a member of our Carpenter’s Club. Members pledge a gift of at least $40, payable upon the completion of the first three homes per year. Pledge letters are sent with an invitation to attend the dedication ceremony. The Carpenter’s Club enrollment form can be printed by selecting the link below and mailed.
- Gifts of stocks are accepted. Please contact the office at 304-422-7907 for more details.
- Donations in memory or in honor of someone important to you are accepted. A note is sent to the family of the honoree or the honoree themselves informing them of your gift (without the amount listed).
- Remember Wood County Habitat for Humanity in your will.
Any gift in cash or stocks of at least $500 qualifies for West Virginia state tax credits through the Neighborhood Investment Program. To find out more, call the office at 304-422-7907.
ReStore Donations
The ReStore accepts home improvement items that are in good repair. Accepted items are furniture, appliances that are in working order, cabinetry, building materials, tools and anything else that is in the “home improvement” category that is able to be re-sold. We do not accept clothing, dishes, knick-knacks or soft goods (such as linens and draperies). We cannot accept used mattresses.
Items to be donated to the ReStore may be dropped off at the ReStore. If you are unable to drop off the items, please call the ReStore at 304-HABITAT (422-4828) to arrange a pickup. Our goal is to make the pickups on Mondays and Tuesdays.
If one is desired, you will be provided with a receipt for tax purposes for your donation.
